I received yesterday an extremely detailed draft of the adjudication application from Building & Construction Payment Solutions (BCPS). I have had the unfortunate necessity (I do say unfortunate as no one wishes to be owed money) of needing the services of BCPS on several occasions and have always felt confident with their care and attention to detail.

My most recent occurrence was by far the most severe as it involved the future of my business and my families’ livelihood being dependant on the outcome. However at no time did I feel uneasy or lack any confidence in the team handling my case. When the pressure was on by the respondent to try and intimidate me the claimant, you need people around you who can see the big picture. This is faith strengthening and reassuring for any contractor who is in this situation.

Additionally, most contractors wouldn’t know the legal procedure required to recover monies owed. There is usually a lot of emotion attached. BCPS, whilst displaying proper emotion, namely care and consideration of the client, are professional in that they are able to see through the emotion and take care of all the paper work and legalities in making sure everything gets processed the correct way for a positive outcome. I can’t begin to tell you what a relief this is.

I would like to give a special mention to both Lucinda and Verity who took the lead in my case. If any potential client thinks that by having women representing you is a mistake, then think again. They would be my first choice. They never wavered in their confidence in a successful outcome and were always available to talk to me when things may have started to become a little tense.

In conclusion I just wanted to say I am very glad there is an organization out there that is personal enough to care about the little guy, subcontractors who are owed money, and very professional in making sure they get it.

I had problems with one of my builders not paying my company for work in which we had done and had turned to you for help. If you have completed the work to a trade standard then there is no reason to withhold payment on the plasterer.
